Mètres carrés : square meters (1m² corresponds to 10 square feet approximately)

CC (charges comprises) : rent including community and utility expenses

How long is the apartement lease ? Quelle est la durée du bail ?

How many electrical outlets does the apartment have ? Combien de prises électriques y a-t-il ?
How secure is the neighborhood ?Est-ce que le quartier est sécurisé ?

When you sign the contract

Acompte : advance payment
APL : one of state financial assistance for accomodation
Assurance habitation : household insurance
Bail : leasehold
Charges : community and utility expenses (not included in the monthly rent)
Dépôt de garantie (also inaccurately called « caution ») : security deposit (amount of money which can be used by the landlord to cover any unpaid rent or damages)
Durée du contrat : rental period
Etat des lieux : initial and final inventories of general condition of the apartment
Locataire : tenant
Propriétaire : landlord
